So what is a Heat Pump? To describe it in a very simple way, it’s the the term used for “pumping” heat out of the ground and into your home - sounds simple doesn’t it.

First of all, before we dig any holes, we’ll assess the suitablity for a geothermal system and what kind of heat pump system you’ll need.

Once the calculations have been made we bury underground, what are know as Captor Coils, these coils come in many different configurations and can be buried and laid to suit various situation and heating demands.

The captor coils are used to capture the heat from the ground. Due to heat being produced by the earths core and through the energy of the sun, the temperature underground remains at a constant all year round, what ever the season.

This constant temperature, even if it’s a few degree above zero is what we capture to heat your home. We collect this by pumping an ice cold non toxic liquid down into the captor coils. This ice cold liquid gets heated very, very slightly underground, once it returns to the surface this tiny amount of heat is extracted from the liquid via the heat pump.

This process is ongoing and very quickly this tiny amount of heat has grown enough heat your home via radiators or underfloor heating.
